Auto-control


You exercise auto-control, in advance, through the practice of self-calming, ego-skepticism, and reducing ego defensiveness

{will do a lot more good than trying to exert willpower after situations get out of hand}.

Self - Calm
  1. Escapist activities: a good book, music, rigorous and extreme recreational or sports activities, etc.

  2. Meditation: Sitting, Insight, Mindfulness or Guided Imagery, Transcendental Mediation, etc.

Ego-skepticism

  1. You don´t always have an accurate view of the world

  2. Each of us has a one-sided view of things and our opinions are, on average, probably as wrong as anyone else´s.

Defensive Attitude

Events that threaten our ego and make us feel bad about ourselves have real and important consequences. Naturally, people experience negative emotions during such events. Do remember that or to

2. Foster a permanent attitude of self-compassion, approaching yourself with kindness, concern and forgiveness, recognizing that you are, after all, only human.

3. Direct your attention to dealing with the tangible results of negative events.

4. Adopt a kind, understanding, non-judgmental and accepting attitude towards yourself.

5. Accept the fact that you are not perfect and therefore you will experience failure, setbacks, and loss.
